Dark and sinister, the scale of your colour palette is well choosen. Would have been much greater with a liitle more doing on the face, e.g. softer transitions instead of the harsh one. The light source is well defined on the mitre//sword , maybe it should've also a little brighten the pope's left cheek as well. Be careful when you are using black as mixture, it makes colours dirty as shown on the pope's back robe. So what works on the front might be a little more subtle on the back.
