Penal Legionnaire

I have hit painters block and I was hoping for some friendly constructive insight on where to go next on this guy. His gun/knife are unpainted and his shoulder pads are on base coat. The cloth is Catchan Green washed with Thrakka Green with one highlight of Catchan green. I plan on using Gnarloc on the next layer and then a highlight of knarloc and maybe some bleached bone or something mixed to make the edges look thread bare. For the shoulders I want to wash it with Devlan Mud and then rehighlight with some more Solar Orange (which is the base coat) and then pick out details to make it looked chipped using some dark brown and some bolt gun metal. The tabard thingy is based in Calthan Brown and I plan on going up to a sorta burlap color using some mixture of Khemri Brown and Deneb stone The skin is the only thing that I call "done". Pardon my crappy photo, as this camera is 10 years old and sucks at Macro.

Awesome model! I am doing my squad of PL right now, just using modified cadians with catachan heads. where did you get or how did you modify this guy? right down to the neck explosive!! LOVE IT! I love the skin. I would suggest to do exactly as you said you were going to do. I would paint the lasgun and knife to look "used"; chaos black, then lightly drybrushed with boltgun and washed with devlin mud, and then maybe adding a slight highlight of chainmail. not too much to get the "used" look. if your freehand skills are up for it you could put a serial number on his weapon and maybe his head as seen in the codex. I have the tips of my lasguns painted blue to match the trim of my desert cadians and tallarns, so you could do that or just paint it orange! (although might make it look like a fake gun you get at the dollar store! lol) i know this is a really old post, but thought id still comment! cheers

I appreciate that there have been pretty postive votes, but I was hoping for some feed back to work from. Please let me know what you think.
