Ork Looted Penitent Engine
Well this was an ordeal!! What started as a seemingly good idea descended into a battle of wills between me and a wobbly collection of metal pieces!! This was my entry for GDUK 2009, the idea being an old batter witchunters penitent engine stumbled upon and orkified by some greenskins. The driver was replaced with a gretchin attached haphazardly with various umbilicals, a few ork extras like chimmneys and guns were added. The paintjob is very grungy and belies how much time it took! The metal was painted then weathered using chips and rust - lots of rust!! The banner and purity seals were then 'graffitied' ork style! The pose was a pain to get right and took a while to line everything up after it was painted. The base features a freshly squashed gretchin that got underfoot! So a real chore to get finished - undoubtedly the worst sculpt i have tried to paint and was VERY close to going out the window on several occasions! Cheers, Brett
