Sad Girl: A Purple Wish
I painted this for Iron Painter 6, round 1 (theme was "The Color Purple"). I started thinking about doing something with this miniature and having the transformed parts in purple. Originally, the whole idea for the meaning in "The Color Purple" would be that her condition (being locked away) was due to the color purple of parts of her body. In the end, I changed the idea slightly. There are probably many interpretations of "the color purple" for this piece, but I think that there is one that stands-out for me (and hopefully the judges). In her case, the color purple makes her an outcast, while the color purple is what gives the flower (which she stares at with such sadness) its beauty. This miniature was very enjoyable to paint, and lent itself to some nice blends. This miniature is based on a 40mm Groundforge Dark-War Decking 40 base (slightly modified).
