Steam Tank Karl Franz
I hope you like this photo taken of my work in progress Steam Tank at the GW Grand Tournament in Boston in 2004. As you can see, it's a 6th edition tank, since its main gun is no longer allowed by 7th edition rules. I've named the tank the Karl Franz, after the fictional Emperor in GW's fantasy world. (Hence the KF on the shield and the lettering on the white scrollwork, one of which reads "Karl Franz" and the other "Imperator" in my attempt at using the distinctive German "Fraktur" typeface.) The model has had minor conversion work, principally removing any skulls (GW has a skull fetish for some reason; that was cool in the 80s, but we're way past that now: time to move on.... Besides, the Empire is supposed to be the good guys. If it uses skulls willy-nilly, what heraldry will the Vampire Counts use?), covering the decorative shields to remove the 3D heraldry and replace it with my own painted work, and mix and matching bits from various 6th edition steam tank variants. This is my first contribution to this Web Site. All comments are welcome!
