Rotten Belle
My first entry into an internet based miniature's painting competition. It has a special place in my heart from now on. :) Given it was a Halloween contest, I tried to bring out the dark and tragic expression which was already inherent in the sculpt. Was rather happy with how the face turned out. It was my first attempt at painting zombie flesh. The dress was interesting to paint, with the intention of using shades of red and pink to create contrast and highlighting the once feminine nature of the miniature. The cobblestone base was an idea I was toying with and Wolf's words of wisdom were the inspiration behind the final base you see. My intention was to depict a scene of our poor undead zombie hooker, working the Victorian Age streets of London. My first attempt of carving foam board with a pencil and a knife paid out rather well and the fantastic lamp post sculpt from Wyrd completed the mini-diorama. I was exceptionally happy with the light.
