FoW 15mm StuG

A small commission I did. Had a lot of fun, making the tiny tank look real. I wanted it to look like it went through some intense fighting. Actually, I got the model in damaged condition - the skirts had broken off. I was able to glue one back on and decided to make the best out of it by trying to make it look like battle damage. The cross and numbers were done as a freehand because I really, really don't like decals. Still - painting those numbers was one hell of a pain in the behind. :)

I like battle damages on this tank. They look really nice. This brown rusty/dirty effect is also very good. Keep this painting level :)

Thanks for the advice, NSA. A lot of people keep telling me about the lacking realism in the Schurzen damage. I'm aware. Thing is, these tanks were from the Open Fire! Starter Box, so they are one piece. The resin skirts were so thin that I didn't dare meddling with them any further. That's why I refrained from adding proper cuts and ridges.:) At least the tracks were also part of the model, so I couldn't get the wrong ones. :D Might try the stencil idea though, already have a plan for that.

By the way, it's not just you... as much as we like Battlefront, they ship a lot of bad packs. Be glad you didn't get two left tracks and a Sherman gun barrel with this thing :P
