Well, the yellow seems yellow because I never intended to paint my Sanguinary Guard in Gold or NMM - I wanted them to be yellow ^^
Maybe that is the reason for the low rating? Because painting yellow and white in such a clean way is loads of work... Do people think this is supposed to be NMM?
Fluff-wise the Angels Encarmine are the only ones who differ from the Blood Angels uniforms and have white Sanguinary Guards and also a white Death Company. But I decided to paint my guys in that yellow tone because I use it as a contrast colour in the rest of my army (really harmonizes with the dark red!) and I thought it would be pretty cool to have a yellow guard instead of the standard golden one. They look like part of the army this way, and still like the absolute Elite of it :)
Coming to the joints, well, with the rest of my army I go for blue and green here, but I thought that white wouldn't destroy the pure look of the guard, and I personally like the way it looks!
The wings are fantastic and you were able to get a real nice looking yellow, however it does look yellow (not gold). There is too little contrast between the shadow and highlights and I find it a little strange that the recesses and joints are white (lighter) than the armour. That said, you are obviously a skilled painter. Oh but aren't the Angels Vermillion supposed to have 'white' Sanguinary guards?
