Space Marine Devastator Squad

Im back now, have been away from painting a while. Here is my first post of many to come. Trying out a new speed-painting tech that ive developed. Pretty saticfied with results. What do you think? //Thanks for your feedback, Of course i will share my new technique with you, 1. Start of with a digital camera and a desk lamp. Hold the model into lightsource and try to create an illusion of the lighting you want to achieve. I use these images as reference later on. 2. Dry-brush the whole model with dark colors, then the primary ones on top. You should now have something that looks like your reference photo. 3. Wash the model with a dark color mixed with black, 2 times should be enough. 4. Now with primary color try to paint over bigger areas where you just dry-brushed primary, so that the dry brushing isn't so apparent. For example center of shoulders, helmet and backpacks. But don't go over the dry-brushed dark color. 5. With the color white highlight all edges of the model, ones that dries, mix primary with 50% water and paint over the white lines. This gives a smooth effect without looking to white. 6. Look at your photo from step (1) and try to figure out where most light hits the model and with white color, paint small lines on a few selected areas to heighten the overall sense of depth. (in my opinion, a model should have colors ranging from black to white) 7. (optional) Dry-brush edges of armor with a metallic-paint for a more rundown armor feel. Let me know how it works out for you! // /Johan
