Lancier Du Griffon 2 B

Another Lancier Du Griffon, this time with the red/bronze color scheme. When I started painting the bronze, I didn't really like the color scheme, but when I finished the shading and highlighting, it turned out great (expecially on the shield). Also the blue details add a lot to the overall look. The skin and eyes (not visible on this picture) are the best I have done so far I think. Constructive comments are always welcome!

you've edged me out skillwise with these last few. In particular I like the smooth neat and clean style. My only concern (and it still beats mine) is the front lighting - just a tad too dark - like I can't see what is on the back of the shield for example . . . otherwise . . Rock Solid! :D

Overall, I really like this figure. I think my favorite part is actually the tip of the spear; one of the few cases I've ever disagreed with Jenova! :) Now for the nitpicking. I do agree that parts of it seem to be a bit dark. The red is a bit dim; there are bits where it seems to go from black too quickly to a dark red. I think what I want is more daring red highlighting. I have a similar complaint to the blue parts -- they seem a bit blackish. (I'll be the first to admit that I like bright colors...) My least favorite part is the base -- it really looks too monodimentional. I think you'd have a better effect if you sculpted stones from miliput/greenstuff. The current stones are too flat, and the in between parts are too dark. (I'm not sure if the cobblestones are painted on or are actually plasticard or cardboard; I suspect the latter.)
