Your colorscheme is great, amount of detail is excellent, you know the basics, now you need to go that extra distance, i believe you should try painting with thinner paints. practice practice practice.
also if you want a crisper base paint the sides black or scorched earth, green is abit noobish to me :P

Good choice of colours. Also good job on the gems. I would say that you need to use thinner paints in the future, and that you need to work on smoother layering.
