Cronified tyranid warrior

This is jus something that i did while i was bored. I actually paint necrons, but tried some tyranids. I ended up not liking my tyranid paint scheme so i painted it with my necron colors, and this is what it came out as :)

i like the idea, it was a good startiong point. I don't think you've implimented it as well as you could have. Critique: It seems almost like you were patient when you started and then suddenly wanted to rush through it - i say that because the painting is really nice in some places, but not so nice in others. the highlights on the legs are really nice and seamless, but the ones on the op of the mini are quite rough and rather sudden. Those highlights should have been your focus as those are the ones that are most visible. i think the green inking holds this one back more than anything - again i say it was a really good idea, i like the concept - but it needs a bit more transition - more because of the texture then the colour. oh - if you can i'd suggest a quick wash over the teeth and perhaps a spot of highlight here and there to add a touch of differential and help them stand out from the rest of the head. Compliment: As i've said, i think the idea is really cool - in my opinion what really pulls this scheme together is the purple - it's not too much and not too little. I think if it had just been chrome and green it would have looked a little momchromatic and not quite as well blended, but as it is the pruple helps to offset this effect and ground the model - making it look a little more "real" while i'm on colour - nice touch of pink in there on the venom canon. Good little detail there. I think the weathering on the canon is pretty good - well executed there. I also like the BG texture on the armour plates' black - but you kinda messed that up with the stark highlights - in my opinion it would have looked much cooler with the striping effect continued to highlight. Nice solid pose ! he has a sense of movement from his stance, so props on that one!
