Since the treads are moving it will be hard for mud to cake on to them. The build up would concentrate on to the side panels. Since Chimeras have a very strange design (I could only compare them to some WWI tanks) I couldn't find anything that resembles them in the real world,for reference pictures, so I had to improvise. I am not totally right of course but this is just the way I have imagined it.
