Mad Donna Ulanti

EDIT: I've uploaded some better quality images as well as a few pre-varnished/unbased ones (Didn't like how the varnish looked): http://s119.photobucket.com/albums/o147/GenryuOfBahamut/Miniatures/ This is the first miniature I have painted since I was at High School (Just over 10 years ago), and so I'm surprised with how its turned out. There is certainly room for improvement, however I am fairly happy with the result considering the long break from the hobby. Back when I was at High school my favourite GW game was Necromunda, so when I saw an old beaten up Mad Donna Mini going cheaply on Ebay I just got the urge to paint. I wanted to give her a girly look, whilst maintaining the punk feel of the mini, and so went for a pink and purple colour scheme. The base is a 30mm resin base I picked up online, I added the toxic sludge by building up layers of PVA glue (The bubble was made from green stuff). I now have the painting bug again, so any feedback, suggestions and tips would be more than welcome :)

A classic 90's era GW mini... One thing I would recommend is that her hair needs some real highlights to give it "shine". As it is the strands are flat purple even if they are shaded in between. Try something like on this: #135648 (one of mine, it's the first mini I used it on and the effect amazed me!). If lighting your photos is an issue, you could try a desk lamp with a "daylight spectrum" bulb (eg. GE Reveal), that is recommended by many painters.

You certainly got the girly look going, however I think she looks kinda flat and a wee bit too dark. This model and most of it's kind (rest of the Eschers) really benefit from bright, poppin' colors. I think you could easily fix this one by applying some sort of brighter, more extreme highlights and getting some kind of focus points
