Keeper of Secrets
Here is my contribution to Beautiful Grim charity auction. http://beautifulgrim.org/info.html If it wasn't for Cat, this would have remained in my figure case, an unfinished gift in a score of other unfinished miniatures. When I'd heard about Beautiful Grim, I wanted to contribute, but was intimidated by the sheer talent in the list of artists that had already signed on. Eventually I'd considered the fact that there would be sculptures submitted, and asked whether a "miniature" would be welcome (as I've put brush to plastic or metal far more than canvas in the last few years), and the idea was met with enthusiasm. This particular figure is one that really seemed "right" for the show, from an art perspective. It could be interpreted as inesnsitive or offensive, but I couldn't really think of anything else that better personifies "the female demon". This model also has some history. The unassembled resin kit (sculpted by Daniel Cockersell) was provided for Mythic Entertainment by Games Workshop as creature reference for a boss encounter in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. It was assembled, primed, based, and basecoated by Kurtis Smith (the Character Artist responsible for the in-game character) and finally painted by Jeremy Dale (Lead Animator). Whether this model finds a home on someone's shelf or on someone's gaming table (careful, VERY fragile), I hope the new owner treasures it, not for what I've done in painting it, but for it's history and as a tangible reminder that they did their part to help a good cause, and a good friend. As an additional "Thank You", I will also be packing a WAR lapel pin with the model as a bonus for the auction winner. It's not much, but If someone's a fan of the game on top of everything else, It's a nice little removeable trinket. Detail summary: 6.5" tall painted resin model.
