Vampire Counts - Vlad von Carstein

Along with a few others we painted each some vampire miniature within one painting session at night (well a few bits were left and I had to finish him up in the day afterwards). Initially I didn't think much of the sculpt (it's simply too overdone for my taste), however painting that cloak in particular was way more fun than I expected. Not the cleanest job, but I hope he will do well on the battlefield in a friend's vampire counts amry.

Awesome contrast! The eye dances between the black, gold, steel and souls, not missing a detail and immediately understanding what every detail is, while still having a strong focus on the pallid white face. Impressive. Very impressive.

WOW! That was my first thought when I saw your painted version of the the great Vlad von Carstein. I thought the GW model was the greatest painted, but yours is twice as good! I think some of it is because your gold color is much more yellow and the GW version is more over into the copper gold. 1 thing though. I agree with the GW version; the cape workes better in red than blue :)
