Thank you. I am getting better with each mini! Can you put a matt finish over a glossy finish? We play with these minis at the table and the glossy gives better protection.
Well having looked at both of your pictures of Jolie I have a couple of points to make; Ok you like bananas, but they distract in the background best shoot against a plain sheet of paper, puts the emphasis on the figure. Second you need to consider your camera settings as by the looks of the photo you are stretching the limits of the setting its on and causing camera "noise". As to the painting:- Not too shabby, ok the highlights on the purple robes could do with being a little more subtly blended but purple is a pig of a colour to work with. A few washes of extremely dilute dark purple (definitely towards the blue end of the spectrum) would add depth to the shadows and smooth the highlights. A touch of Dullcoate (matt lacquer) would kill the gloss finish and make the picture a bit better. Hope this helps.
