Awakening Statue

After finished previous OSL-theme exercises, I managed to try something I really like (Though my previous colourful shining works got overrated rating, but that style was never really my cup of tea, they were just some technical exercises for me.) Dark£¬depressed£¬implicit£¬"undertones" etc. That is my real style. So,on the new beginning, I largely decreased the saturation of colour,£¨as well as brightness) and painted rust texture to blur most details. In order to drag people's attention away from smooth blending or shining reflection or skilled NMM or something like that. Instead, seize more attention on the atmosphere I tried to create. feel like it's a rusty statue stood there for hundreds of years, never moved one step, but now,a battle is summoning him,the "statue" come back to life just in one sec..... btw,I painted a CG background for this one, hope it's not bad. Like always, all Comments & Criticism are welcome, thx~

Nice work, indeed the OSL could be more intense... and always remember it is not a problem using a stone that looks like a potato, there are stones that look that way in nature! No problem at all :) - Keep on happy painting! Regards Roman

Good work, dark and moody, I love it but would like to have seen some stronger OSL to really add more atmosphere. The OSL you have done is still looking good though of course! DFB
