Nice.
Think I'd want to put another layer of highlighting on the neddies mane, tail etc.
Bit busy for my taste.
When doing a commision as something special I (used to) aim for just one thing stands out from each major viewpoint.
The guy does Gripping Beast display figures has an interesting approach. These are historicals.
I like the swirly bits on the blades.
Guessing you want how to win a GD advice though...
I think if you try and fathom what GD judges will "go for" you risk madness.
A technique they can't figure out how you did is one approach.
GD winner looks good for pro painters, not so sure about whether the effort is worthwhile otherwise. YMMV obviously.
One suggestion I made on rgmw a while back was a light box diorama with a lightning bolt using that lighting wire stuff.
When you can absolutely control the light sources and viewing angle you can get effects impossible otherwise.
Good luck next time(?)
