Saruman of Many Colours

I had this idea to do Saruman and try to emphasise the fact that he was no longer Saruman the White, but that his robes held hints of many colours. So I started with a pale yellow and a grey blue for the base colours on the robes and tried to work warm red and yellow tones into the highlights while using greens and blues in the shadows. Meanwhile I had issues in creating a base that gave a sense of location without going beyond the basic gaming base requirement for GD, so the figure is detachable at the corner. Managed a finalist pin at GDUK 2010 Some work in progress pictures can be found on The Basement or OZ Painters The Basement OZ Painters Thanks for looking

The best saruman i have seen. Wonderful setting and incorporated blue tones in the cloth as well as the surrounding areas. Brilliant stuff!
