Ladies and Germs! This was my entry for GD UK 2010. Unfortunately it didn¡¦t place, but to be honest I didn¡¦t really expect that either with the paintjob a bit hastily done (even though I had my hopes) ¡V However I was happy to have realized my first serious mini after a break since 2006. My vision for the project was to make a character involved in a scene with a clear intrigue/story rather than just a standard single miniature holding a sword and looking mean. So I set out for sculpting a skaven warlock engineer down in a gloomy empire sewer inspecting a pile of poisoned rats. Also I wanted to put it in an, at least, semi-dynamic pose, trying emphasise and explore the skaven anatomy a bit more (considering the GW ones are generally covered in cloth). Wanting to go for a slightly more realistic approach I chose to settle with what seems to be a mixture of an ape (long arms, huge hands) and a rat (head, spine, tail, feet) with a hint of human ƒº The figure is sculpted in fimo, milliput and duro/green stuff with a few chopped up bitz from forge world ¡¥death korps of krieg quartermaster and retinue¡¦ and an empire laurel wreath for the wall decoration. I¡¦d like to thank Nick and Chris for an awesome weekend in London and whom without I would never have gone to GD this year; to my fellow traveller Mikael; to Jakob for continuous inspiration and support; and a big cheer to Jerome for the ride ;-) Lastly I have to mention the people I met and got to know at Figostock this summer and the things I learned there (thanks JAG). I had a blast. Comments and criticism is appreciated. Be harsh if you feel like it.
