Prince Althran

This won the open competition at the local Games Workshop to have your mini picture taken and put up on the GW site. Didn't expect to win, but hey! Tried something a little different and freehanded a bit. Since the shield was sculpted on already, I decided to make it look like a painted design on the shield. Tied the whole thing together to go with the fact his other ride is a dragon.

These colors are very well worked. It’s a 4 /color complimentary color combo which works without a doubt as far as color theory goes. The white spot colors are in a triangle / rectangle fashion which gives boundaries to the many colors. It is this that makes the viewer aware of an almost perfect readability to this model. I say well done for sure.

You're not wrong about the sword! This was painted in one night befor the comp (my own fault for putting it off). The metals weren't working out so I tried something drastic while I was about ready to colapse for a couple of hours around 0700 lol!

While the different parts work well on their own I think the colourscheme drags it down. it's maybe one colour too many for this specific model. I especially find the clash between the bluegreen sword and the warmer green armour not very pleasing to the eye. Sven
