I painted this a while back and auctioned it off on Ebay. I wanted to make an elemental where his armor starts off green and gradually blends into the red. I also thought I'd decorate the base a bit with scripture. I thought it was pretty cool.

I think this is a good example where you have to folow nature even in fantasy. The jade to red is fantastic. I like the base. But the wrong fire really distracts from the mini. If done in the same manner as the armor you could have easily gotten a 9.5 from this one.

yah i dig the word work on the base, that neat looking specially two colors and the fire on the monsta is good with some decent blending of that green and red.

ya, i think i used jade green. when i painted this i didn't mix paints back then. i used vallejo game colors so i went from jade to goblin green. and ya, the fire is off. but most examples i went off of go from dark to light but i think it does look better the other way around. since this, i havent had a chance to paint any fire yet. i do have a balrog and gandalf sitting here so i will do it with that next. :)
