Tyranid Warrior Prime "Speedpaint"
As i still needed a HQ choice for my tyranid army i "converted" a warrior to a prime version just by cutting his hands off and turning them araound (+switching sides ;) ). As i wanted to finish this mini fast (i want to play with it this weekend) i forgot about clean painting and used techniques that i think are fast. The model then was undercoated in white. I washed the skin three times (thinned Leviathan Purple, 2*Baal Red out of the pot) Carapace parts where painted with Necron Abyss. After that i "layered" Ultramarines Blue, Ice Blue and finally Space Wolves Grey in strokes just as Menelker described in his article (http://www.coolminiornot.com/articles/1282) Bone Parts: Khemri Brown layered with Khemri Brown+Bleched Bone and Khemri Brown+Bleached Bone+Ivory(Vallejo), then washed with Gryphonne Sepia and edge highlighted with the KB/BB/Ivory mix. Green Parts where painted with Goblin Green, washed Thraka Green (+Leviathan Purple in the darker areas) and highlighted with Goblin Green+Scorpion Green, Scorpion Green and finally Scorpion Green+Ivory. After applying matt varnish (spray) i painted green parts with glossy varnish. The base is just drybrushed in greyish tones.
