I agree: The tunic is *cool*, but the eyes make him look like the subject of a spell of confusion!

You could try using a 005 Micron Pigma pen for the eyes. That makes it much easier to do the pupils.

His eyes seem uneven and I can't determine what his expression is. But I like the colors you chose for his tunic and staff.
