Thunderwolf mounted female Lord I know many of you frown upon female space marines, I know as per the old rulebook females are not allowed in the legions of the astartes chapters and Im not sure if this rule still holds, but it seems quite backwards in this day and age. In my opinion if a woman space marine can kick ass just like a male, then there is no reason she cannot kill in the name of the emperor from the same ranks. Who can tell underneath all that armor? Anyways, his whole unit is based around some fluff I thought up. Goes something like this: The invasion of Fenris by the Thousand Sons left behind devastation, especially in the settlements nearest to the Fang. Wolf priests have always frequented these towns to recruit Blood Claws from among the townsfolk who have survived even the lootings of the Heretical Thousand Sons. Mononoken (name props to Ghibli) was raised by her family in the shadow of the fang. Her father was a famed hunter amongs the townfolk, until one day, when she was still young, a Wolf Priest took him to the Fang to become one of the Emperor's Finest. Her brothers have raised her with stories of the might of the Emperor, and planted the seeds of deep devotion within her. Many of her brothers died in battle, or hunting, and she has always followed them in secret, living off the land, separate from the group of men but keeping in the shadows of her brothers. She has seen them taken by Valkiries in battle, and one day, her closest brother, havign suffered a mortal wound was approached by a large man in black armor. From the stories Mononoken knew that a wolf priest has chosen her brother and taken him to the Fang. After so much time following in the footsteps of her brothers, on her own, she has learned to live off the land, having witnessed many battles, and evne taken part in many in secret, she has grown strong. And driven by her love for the emperor she has even undertaken the impossible trip to the Fang itself. But she was denied acces, and nearly killed at the gate, so she had to run. Taking refuge in the snowy mountains she did what she has done best, hunted to live. She has heard stories of Fenrisians, given then power of the Space Wolves, who would take up challanges to hunt down the holy Fenrisian wolves. So she took it upon herself to hunt one down, maybe with a Fenrisian Wolf Cloak on her back they would grant her access to the Fang, to follow her brothers and father, and to serve the holy Emperor. After months of stalking and hunting, she has managed to set a trap and kill an enourmous wolf. Standing over it's body, scraping off its fur, she was surrounded. The other wolves from the pack have come to defend their fallen leader. She has felled an Alpha Male. The Alpha female stared right at her, Mononoke covered in it's mate's blood, stared back. For her there was only service of the emperor or death. Sensing she had no fear... and some might say sensing the presence of the Emperor's power flowing within her, the Huge wolf submitted and accepted Mononoken as her leader. This is how it came to be, that the first female Fenrisian, as she rode up to the fang on the back of a rare and imposing Thunderwolf, and accompanied by its pack, was granted access. It was Ulrik the Slayer himself who inspected this strange creature. And recognizing the potential in her took her in front of the high King Logan. Logan was sure that the geneseed would reject a female host, and even if she survived, her weak spirit would be consumed by the Wulfen spirit. But it was not so. She came out stronger then any of her brothers before her, and quickly rose through the ranks. Wolf is from Masquerade Miniatures , sculpted by Gregor Adrian and Stefan Niehues Rider Legs from mr.Dandy Head is from Sascha Dubois, Timechaser, scuplted by Andre Durand, Reaper Minis Base is from Scibor's Monstrous miniatures. Body and accessories are Games Workshop bits Pelts and cloaks are scratch sculpted using green stuff and white stuff
