Kasrkin Sgt.

This one is from my second inducted imperial guard squad. Nick named “Crossed-Eyes”. I just love models with helmets, gas masks and such. I simply can’t get faces done right. Especially eyes.

Blah, forgot the eyes: first paint eyesockets white, then wash them with GW Devlan Mud wash, then retouch with white again. This will create a dark line around the eyeballs. When painting pupils, water down black paint and use a fine brush to paint a vertical line that begins at upper edge of the eyeball and ends at lower edge. Painting a dot gives the impression of bulging eyes, which is not the thing we are looking for.

As with your other models, this one is seriously underscored. It is a 5 easily, being at fair TT standard. To improve on it, repaint base brown, shade metallic areas with some washes and work more on the face. On a model like this one, face is a focal point of the model so you need to spend MUCH more time painting it then usual. First, wash it with GW Ogryn Flesh wash. After it dries, water down some flesh colour you use and pick the raised areas (like nose, cheeks, forehead, brows, lips etc.). Then add some GW Bleached Bone to your watered down flesh colour and repeat highlighting but on some very top points only.
