Another mini

Hi all. This was my first ever attempt at GD (2010) and achieved a silver. I spent three Months off and on working on this. Completed it the morning (8am) of the competition. I'm not happy with the eyes - i've always struggled with these. I also wish I'd used a lighter second coat of green on the armour, much of the weathering is hard to see unless you look for it. The blood on the tabard was almost a disaster, in my tired state on the morning (it was wet when I packed it for transport!) I didn't consider how it would look and use the same red mix as I had on the chest plate - luckily some tamiya soot weathering powder saved the day. I'm also not a fan of the sword. Until the day before I painted it I was planning on more of a bone colour - however at the last minute decided to go for the stark purple in the hope that it would help the model stand out in the cabinet as all the other colours are quite dull and subdued. My favourite part is the skin - I think this is my best ever attempt. Other firsts for me as well on this were scratchbuilding (sword) and also using an airbrush. I must say thanks to giganticdark who's own model not only inspired me to dig mine out from the bottom of the wardrobe, but also for the blog on his own model. It taught me so many new techniques. Please feel free to leace C&C - always willing to learn how to improve.
