Nurgling Base
Just finished a Nurgling base for my 40K Deathguard army. Just wanted to share with everyone. I look forward to any comments or suggestions. More pictures can be found here. can be found here: http://www.curdledmilk.com/gallery/warhammer_gallery.asp. I put them in the fantasy catagory because I decided to base them on the square fantasy bases rather than the round 40k bases. The central Nurgling is sitting on a sculpted base of greenstuff. I added a couple of small pieces of guitar string for exposed intestinal matter sticking through the rotting mound of fleshy decay. The nurglings were given a light coat of (flat flesh - Vallejo) (3 of them) and (dead flesh - Vallejo game) (2 of them). I then applied a light wash of brown ink, black ink, green ink, small amounts of purple ink to the base rotting matter as well as the nurglings. The flesh colored nurglings I highlighted with bone/flesh mix and final highlights of bone, the green nurglings were highlighted with dead flesh/bone with a final highlight of bone. Intestines were a mix of red/bone and then washed with red and black inks. Rocks were based in a green grey, brushed over with a lighter gray, light wash of black, with final highlights in a light grey/white mix with just a few hints of white. Maggots were painted in blue or bone and given a wash of black, and some of the bone got a treatment of light purple ink wash.
