I think it's perhaps rating low because of the odd angle of the pic - it's always nice to see a mini's face etc. The cloak looks neat, although I can see some roughness - I'm still trying to get the hang of smooth putty myself, but try a softer tool with some moisture, or I know some people use a damp fingertip to smooth large areas. Gold could use a bit more definition, as perhaps could the scales, on the tail they seem to connect a bit - some darklining or an ink wash might help here. And yeah, cool base :)
