It looks like you are painting on top of a white undercoat. If you are - then you should be careful to not leave white 'lines' between areas of color. The area between his coif and his face looks odd - I'd guess it is white from the undercoat. The area around the belt also seems to suffer from this problem.
Either undercoat black, do some blacklining to clean up these lines - or be very careful and neat when you paint - making sure to cover all the undercoat.
So my advice would be to concentrate on getting a smoother cleaner division of colors. Also make sure the paint covers well - don't be afraid to use several thin layers of paint.
After you've mastered 'neatness' I'd say you should try out some highlighting/shading techniques. Also painting the eyes on a mini helps tremendously with overall appearance - as we are drawn to the face and it is the first thing most people will notice.
