Lysander

Painted for the THQ SM Competition just for fun (there are already much better ones uploaded). Originally I wanted to paint it to a strong orange color like the marine from Luke McFarlane. Didn't quite made it, I overhighlighted it with yellow, so it's more like a traditional IF armor now then the one I wanted. So it got some extra chipping and such to the armor and cape. For the base: I tried to follow massivevoodoo's tutorial on how to paint marble. I like how it turned out, even though the one seen in the tutorial is lightyears ahead :) I hope you'll like the mini.

I like how Jbickley cries about it being a 6.6 and gives you a 6. Lol...unintentionally, of course.

A 6.6? Seriously? I have seen other minis painted to this standard get 8's. This is way better than a 6.6

This is indeed a competition standard, well above the mid-6 current rating. The armor is impressive, yellow is a bitch of a color but you pulled it off quite well! The grieves and torso could have used some paint chipping too, since those areas are likely to bump into terrain or receive incoming attacks. The shield looks a bit flat compared to the rest of the model, more contrast is needed to put it at the same level of painting as the rest of the mini. Same comment for the terminator crux on the left shoulder pad. Some sooth/heat discoloration next to the armor exhausts, and dirt being the soles, would be great additions as well.
