This is my entry to the Australian 2011 Golden Demon. I started painting this as a present for a friend and got into trying new techniques (especially things I liked in old Eavy Metal masterclasses). Eventually I decided it might be worth entering in GD - I've never done that before! This is also the first Space Marine character I've painted - all my previous efforts have been with Orks. The mini itself is completely stock. The base was hand-sculpted from Milliput in a solid block. The pink runes are Dark Tongue names for various Old Ones - Shub-Niggurath and Azathoth in particular. The idea here is that Njal is interrupting a chaotic ritual of sacrifice, with his chain lightning blasting away the chaos runes of summoning. Comments would be very welcome!
