Kroxigor

I cut the tail away from the body and stretched the legs a bit to make it look like he is about to leap on his enemy. The column is made of Sculpey. The bracelets and armor are supposed to look as if carved of stone, not NMM. The club is a GW bit I saw at a GT last year. I am not happy with how I painted the wood. Any suggestions how I could improve it?

7.5 actually, but I'll round up...I love what you have done....My suggestions, the woodgrain could be "simulated" by using more drastic highlights, don't pay too much attention to the acutal modelling of the woodgrain, just simulate a pattern. The stone bracelets are cool, but maybe use a stipling effect to make them look a little more stonelike. The raised foot looks a little too static, maybe it should slightly bend down...But great job in painting, and the stone column is just incredible.

Nicely done, although the result of the color scheme makes him look like a zombie kroxigor (cool concept for an army). I would suggest taking the wood another notch higher with the highlights. Try Vallejo cork or GW vermin brown mixed with Bleached Bone. The tall grass on the base could use some color, but the pillar is excellent.
