Eldar Corsair Princess - Autarch - the Black Faery

My first mostly green stuff mini, the "Black Faery" (named after the Therion song), an Eldar Corsair Princess (counts as Autarch). The power weapon is a modified Diresword and the fusion gun is from the old Eldar weapon sprue, the wings are cut from an old Fire Prism metal crystal packaging! The rest of the model is green stuff. (NB: manufacturer set as GW because the weapons are originally from GW and the fig is supposed to be from their 40k universe.)

Both of these critics are perfectly justified. The painting: I do not highlight my minis for two reasons. First, better admit it right away, I'm really lazy, so I only do flats + wash, almost no highlighting (there's just a tiny bit on this one, which I did before, not after the wash). Second, I actually in all honesty don't like contrast and find most highly contrasted minis - which are otherwise amazing and way beyond any level I could ever dream to reach - too hyper-realistic. For that same reason I also don't do source lighting or effects on gems. Does it make of me a poorer painter? Probably ^^ The pictures: I couldn't get proper lighting so this was very amateurish, which I apologize for. The actual miniature does have better colors. I will try to get proper lighting sources, but I had to do with the ambiant light of my working place and a white paper background for this one.

i really like the model i think it is rather cute in a way, but the paint job has no real contrast, it all blends together so you cant see the details that well, it is all just a mish mash, i mean no offence from this i think you did a good job i just think it should be a little brighter

Absolutely impossible to rate, which is a pity, as from what I can pick out I like the mini. Your images are way too far underexposed, not helped by a brilliant white background. I know shooting minis is not that easy but perhaps you could benefit from some of the articles on this site, Good luck and keep on painting!
