Salamanders 'Guardian of the Forge' Aus GD2011

Here are some pictures of my 40k single entry for this year's Golden Demon. I love the archaic atmosphere that Space Marines have, so wanted to accentuate that as much as possible. The terminator armour is converted to be true-scale, there is gothic/renaissance style patterning on several areas of the figure and the portrait of the emperor is in the style of the period. I also wanted to get the feeling of the armour being a walking shrine, centuries old and having protected countless heroes over the years, hence the candles.
