Leprechaun and Owl

My first painted miniature so constructive criticism is much appreciated. I recently got emerged into the world of miniatures and painting because of my boyfriend and instantly fell in love with all the awesome models and different things you could do to make the miniature look realistic. This miniature at this time I feel is a completed project, but I always look towards striving to make things look better and always working on getting things just right. Please let me know what I can do to make this and future projects look better.

You want to thin your paint down more so it doesnt cake up ur model and cover up details. Also try mixing colors and creating highlights. To create highlights simply ad a lighter color to your mix. And you want to build up highlights where light would naturally fall. I think you have a good eye for this I can tell. You just need lots of practice. Watering down your paint to the right consistency, a steady hand and knowing which colors to mix and match all takes lots of experience. Most of us have been up to this for more than a decade. Keep practicing and posting more work. Don't let scores deter you. Great job!
