Thanks! Yes, you're right, almost all the miniature was painted using drybrush; I started with the base color and then added several layers of a very gentle drybrush and some washes, increasing the light with each one and creating the blending effect. Once done I painted the final lights and details as usual. The sword is the exception, the blend was made with airbrush, I still don't dare with brush blending... ^^'
I'll think about "the green" idea, but honestly I don't know where I could apply that color that fits well... Maybe the waist cloth or the helmet plumes making it Dire Avenger-style...
Thanks for your comments and for the suggestions! I'm still in learning process so, all the help is always appreciated :)
Nice work! A mini to be proud of :-)
A couple of small suggestions: I would add a few more small spot colors to break up the uniform color scheme. There is a lot of blue-grey and brown-orange there and a tiny splash of green on the model would add some further vibrancy.
Also it seems you can blend really well - the sword is lovely! - yet the wings look drybrushed (if i'm not mistaken) and this detracts a tiny bit from the overall smoothness of the paintwork.
Keep up the good work!
