If you want a deeper ivory, use a base coat of some kind of tan. I use either Ral Partha's Dun or Reaper's Buckskin. Fron there, you can move up to ivory, then white. AND.... for basic troopers, it's BEST to keep the scheme simple. You'll have to paint it a LOT.
