The sponsons are magnetized and there's a metal washer in the Land Raider for them to stick to. For the Crusader variant the Assault Launchers have the washer and the magnets are hidden under the tracks.

6.3!?! I think this model deserves much better! Love the colors. Also like that you showed all the bits. Only downside is that I would have liked to have seen a pic of it all put together.
