Onyx the Prowler - Wolfen

I haven't posted anything for a while because I've been working on this big'un. I decided to make this guy look like a hyena. I think I finally did some successful wet blending on this mini, and the freehand finally passes muster (my muster, at least lol). Comments, please! Tell me what you like, or what you don't. :)

Odd that this mini has such a low score. The free hand is very good as is the unique flesh tones. I like the overall look and your use of color. Nice job!

This is a fantastic paint job! I especially like the tatooing on his toenails (would you have to get that redone every 3 weeks when they grew out? I suppose it's the wolfen equivalent of acryllic nails). The hyena dots are good but, I think, a little bit TOO regular. That is, they're all mostly round or oval--it seems to me they should be more like inblots than round. I got what you were going for but it gives it a bit of a polka-dotty effect at the same time. If you do another hyena, i'd definately suggest going for "irregular" markings. The freehand on his sword sheeth is also very impressive. I think what you probably need to work on next is doing something to give the silver (chain, bracelet, armband) more depth. I'm told that experimenting with various ink washes is one of the ways to do this, but my experiments have not been very successful so far (check my latest 3 minis for reference).

Very nice job.. I saw the Heyena resemblence before I read it in your comments. The markings are right on target! Keep it up!
