The sculpt is the original GW Blood Angel Captain from 1991..... I have done no post production sculpting on the mini. The set of 7 captains that I entered were all released in the same year.
The paint work is fantastic. The highlights are great and that freehand is flawless... But that head? What's up with it? It's the one reason I think this mini is scoring under an 8... It just doesn't look like it belongs there. I'd like to give this a solid 9 for the paint work but I'm sorry, I just can't get past the head... I'm interested to know where you got the parts for this model from though, how much of it was sculpted? It has an interesting look that's for sure. Even with the head I can't believe anyone is giving it below an 8. Look at the actual paint work everyone... Each line is immaculate... I've seen stuff rate higher that doesn't touch the quality of this work...
