This was another piece I did for the French GD. I seem to have a habit of thinking I can always manage another figure in the week and a half before A GD. Certainly helps with getting another figure or two painted each year. This time I thought I would try to have a bit more foilage on the base than usual. Individually glueing leaves onto the small shrub (a piece of lichen) was a bit time consuming, but having a good sticky PVA made it quite easy. I also used the Vallejo Air metallics because painting a week before a competition is clearly the best time to experiment with new things ... They are very smooth and have a really fine grain, but they also seem to have a much stronger metallic effect and it took some glazing back and careful reworking to get the armour to where I wnated it.
