Blood Angels Contemptor Dreadnought - REUP

Re Upload with more pictures! And resized Blood Angels contemptor for my pre heresy army. Slight change to the body on the standard and removed a lot of the rivets, but kept things simple, came out okay eh. Just used some forgeworld icons and greenstuff to model blood drops. Really liked the model so had to paint one up, now want another! Used this to learn some new blending techniques so it blends from a red to orange (doesn't come out well in the pictures, wish I was a better photographer). I'm useless at free hand, and I think me trying to free hand any symbols on would ruin the model. Uses a gothic ruins fantascape base. Cheers for looking, hope to have more stuff up soon. Any tips and tricks would be appreciated as well as constructive criticism, anything to make me a better painter I shall consume. Jamie

Cheers for the reply, spent a while this morning just looking at glazes. I agree the metallics do need more highlights on them. Next model ill try and make the reds more extreme, looking into ways of blending almost to black and almost to white. Thanks for the feedback Jamie

You have clean painting, tha gems look good, you could push the lighter part even more and also make the darker part even darker . The red areas I would like to see more "life" it is too flat at the moment. Increase the difference in red colour used to increase the highlight and shadow parts on the figure. Metalic parts could also use some higlightning and perhaps try out some glzes of diffrent warm and cold tones to the metalics. Overall you have a stable painting and I do believe that we will see improved work from you soon.
