Imperial Fists Storm Eagle

If anyone has ever tried to paint (or even assemble) one of these monsters, you know that it is not the most enjoyable of experiences! There were all sorts of Forgeworld casting 'anomalies' that made this almost impossible to put together! The results were very satisfying! I have several different views of this... some with the flying base, and even some shots of the underside. I will post those in a discuss submissions thread. I painted it in a group of sub assemblies, which was the only way to approach it. There are several posts on the blog with WIP images, showing the process. Many of the techniques used on this piece are also on the kickstarter program here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/891905985/discover-the-painting-pyramid-with-james-wappel I added the weathering powders, as they definitely require a special touch...

Incredible work James... the only thing I would add is that it is *too* perfect. Sik mentioned that it looks like it came out of a comic - if that was your goal, you got net at full court. But I think the symmetry and consistency of the chipping; the cleanness of the paint job and the cleanness of the chipping give an artificial look. Even so, still a 10/10
