Great, thanks! I took some photography in high school but we didn't have a macro section. Not to age myself but we had to develop and roll our own film too.
Photo from a little further away, and then crop the image. this will give you a greater depth of field, hence the sword arm would not be blurred (as example). You'll find plenty of advice in the articles section on setting up for photo's and in the forums on photoshop etc. Welcome to CMON! a grand beginning :)
