the 2nd of Yury's busts that I have painted. I really liked the way this was cut so narrowly, limited to just the collar with even the shoulders excluded. Like the Landsknecht I worked a lot of grey into the shadows to desaturate the colours, but I also did the majority of the work with flat brushes, so there is no real blending ourtside of a couple of fine details like the eyes, just stippling farious shades of colour to get the highlights and shadows.
