Lord of Light- Kaldor Draigo vs. Lictor diorama

Hello! Few days ago I finally finished this diorama, it was nice experience to paint miniatures with that strong osl. I was also trying to paint Lictor in more realistic/zerg color sheme, this whole white and purple style doesn't seems right for me. Miniatures used for this scene are made of Finacst, which was great for coverting, but as it always is with this material, few elements looked like after bath in acid. Terrible for painting, I spend many hours trying to make it looks normal, but finall effect is still not this what I would like to get. Anyway I hope that You like my work. Cheers Flameon If You want me to paint something for You let me know on my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Flameon.Miniatures

Nicely painted but the whole osl seems way off. I think the light source is supposed to be the sword but it is no where near bright enough to cast so much light. If you look at the lictors leg standing on the rocks it has a bluelight effect all the way down to the hoof but the light source on the rocks stops before it reaches the leg which makes the whole thing look weird, I mean how can the leg be lit up but the rock edges leading to the leg have no light on them at all?

I also agree that the OSL is a bit off. I can't quite put my finger on it but at some parts it looks like someone is shining a spot light on the mini. It seems more noticeable in the last picture; the transition from light to dark is too harsh. The shadow from the shield on the wall looks like the OSL is coming from his face instead of the sword. Other parts of it look great though, such as the shadow the leg is casting. I commend you for attempting such challenge OSL. You could also paint some shades of red, blue, green and purple in the rocks to break up those large grey surfaces.

good job except the blue light is a little harsh compared to the daylight look of the model. I would ether: ease up on the lighting or: paint the the model dark to indicate nighttime.
