!st time painting a Reaper mini. Trying to work on my blending a bit for the cloak. Tips are welcome.

Yup, a dullcoat would hide the shine. You might consider a thin ink wash over the armor after drybrush highlighting to bring out some of the details.

id say loose the shine. also the pic is a little too dark. the gem looks pretty darn good. but the pic of his back looks like you had some kind of blue light
