Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight, 30mm

This is my Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight from the all-too-short-lived Knight Models Star Wars 30mm line. I've painted him entirely in Artists' Oils, and am not sure whether I want to put him on a more sculptural base or leave him on the standard 1 inch square metal base. Time will tell. But, at last I have figured out how to combine multiple photos into one, and have a semi-decent camera with which to photograph minis, so I should have more to join this one soon. Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy!

Nice job. The face looks great, congrats! And it does deserve either a better base or some work on that one. :)

Well, I was giving some thought to sculpting up a death star window frame to put behind him. I hate the idea of not really being able to view from all angles. On the other hand, with the reflections I've painted on the boots, and the lightsaber blade coloring, I've already had to pick a primary viewing angle anyway. I did consider the green glow actually. I'm not a huge fan of the lightsaber blade lighting - it wasn't a feature in the movies (presumably because they actually added in the colored light in the special effects lab), and although I appreciate the artistry, I feel like it tends to be a bit overdone in minis. I sure do miss the Knight Models SW line though - fortunately, I grabbed most of the ones I wanted before they ended the line.

Put him on a better base for sure! And if you dare... some green lighting on his back would be really dramatic. Knight models made some great SW stuff.
